music stuff

I wish more intricate music was played on the radio, you know, stuff that actually requires more than one brain cell to absorb.

My new sounds:

An opening blurb

I chose to name this blog after one of my favorite songs by a band I love.  21st Century Schizoid Man by King Crimson in one of the earliest, and best, examples of progressive metal.  It features thick, heavy riffing, impressive levels of complexity and a refusal to be placed into any one genre.  I consider this song to be metal, but you could also see it as jazz fusion or progressive rock.  It’s part of what makes the song so incredible.  The interplay between the guitar and sax in amazing, complementing each-other, especially during the chaotic and complex mid-section subtitled Mirrors.
